Exposing the anti-nationals of campus, Naidu tells ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as Slogan of Freedom Fighters

Reiterating his hard ‘no compromise’ stance on national integrity in BJP’s party line, Union minister for urban development M Venkaiah Naidu has said that any people living in India have no right to say that they will not raise the slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Addressing the BJP’s meeting on ‘National Integration’ here Saturday, Venkaiah Naidu said that he will not ask people to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and leave it to their wisdom, but no one living the country has any right to say ‘I won’t raise ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogan’. “The slogan is not patent of an individual, but was said by the likes of Bhagat Singh and other patriots during freedom struggle. Raising ‘Vande Mataram’ slogan, several freedom fighters had sacrificed their lives for the country. I do not understand what the objection is in saying the slogan,” he wondered. The BJP veteran leader told HENB that ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ was the Slogan of Freedom Fighters, not only the Slogan of Hindus and it should not be communalized anyway in any bad perspective.

Lambasting on Congress Party for taking the side of those with ‘anti-national’ attitude and supporting the ideology that poses a threat to the national integrity, he wanted to know as to how the party, which had been in power and aspires to make a comeback, extends solidarity with such forces and find the ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogan objectionable. “It is a shame and unfortunate,” he said, while taking exception to some crap people being compared to Bhagat Singh and Mahatma Gandhi.

The main objective of the programmes being organised by BJP in Vijayawada is to tell the people of the country the facts about what is happening. The people are being misguided by the propaganda of those with mal intentions. “What happened in JNU? ‘One Shahabuddin Ghouri was arrested by the police on charges of being a Pakistani agent.’ What is being said about the University of Hyderabad? ‘Injustice was done to Maqbool Bhat, Afzal Guru, Yakub Memon.’ It was Memon who was responsible for the deaths of 230 people during Mumbai blasts. He was an anti-national and was hanged for his crimes. Why should one feel sorry for him,” he demanded to know.

The BJP senior leader also lashed out at the critics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the government is firm in its resolve to ensure welfare development of poor and women and had implemented and will be implementing a plethora of programmes in that direction.

“Those criticising Modi are doing it because he has been denying them any chance to loot the people anymore. Those criticising him are steeped in corruption and indulged in scams, not leaving land, air, water and space. They are unable to digest the fact that he is doing something for the people,” he alleged and flayed the Opposition for obstructing the Parliament and not allowing it to debate, discuss and decide so development can happen.

Describing Modi as ‘Modificator of Developed India’, he said Narendra Modi stands for three Ds – Decisive, Dynamic and Development. The entire world is praising Modi and the country he represents, he added.
