Stringent laws have been devised to stop the killing and trafficking of cows in Haryana, Defence Task Force In-charge and Deputy Inspector General of Police Bharti Arora said on Thursday.
“A provision to give ten years of imprisonment has been made for killing a cow. Keeping and selling cow meat has been banned in the state. The department is working towards stopping people involved in cow trafficking,” she said.
Arora also held a meeting with the police officers where she gave information on Cow Protection and Promotion Act in detail and asked them to work in compliance with it.
She said the laws have been made stricter and the vehicles involved in the act will be auctioned.
