Boath: A textile trader of Ichchoda mandal of Adilabad district is penning spiritual and devotional songs with absolutely no initiation into spirituality.
He did not study beyond SSC, but penning wonderful songs on contemporary issues and spiritual aspects to the delight of one and all.
He is Mittepalli Sankaraiah (60).
Five years ago, he was drawn towards Sri Sri Sant Narayan Maharaj and accepted him as his spiritual guru.
Later, he gave up meat and liquor.
On the path to spirituality, he started penning songs on God while chanting the names of God. So far, he penned 25 songs that reflected patriotism, Nature, service to cow, service to parents, farmers’ issues, human relations and so on.
Through his songs he questions the society.
He translated the seventh century Haripaat kirtans penned by Sri Sant Gyaneshwar Maharaj in Maharashtra.
Swamy Paripurnananda appreciated the work of Sankaraiah.
When The Hans India asked him on Sunday as to how he was able to pen the songs so easily, he attributed it to the Almighty’s grace.
Till four years ago, he had no courage to speak up let alone writing songs.
Now he said he is prolific in writing and believes that God is making him write.
Serving living things and the Nature amounts to praying to the God.
