Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh via Video Conferencing; says there is ample evidence that practicing Yoga helps fight stress and life-style related issues; PM asserts to create a new Yuga of togetherness & harmony through Yoga.

Prime Minister Narenda Modi has termed yoga as a perfect way to achieve not only a healthy body but also living a stress and tension free life. PM has said that the ancient practise of yoga has the potential to herald a new era of peace and universal brotherhood.Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a strong supporter of yoga and its immense health benefits. And he certainly did not disappoint yoga enthusiasts when he addressed International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh via Video Conferencing.

Countering the often quoted notion about only the physical benefits of yoga , PM said that yoga promotes well being of the body and the mind and is a code to connect people with life, manking with nature. He said that natural byproduct of yoga bring peace of mind as well.

Prime Minister stressed on the special attributes of yoga in calming the stressed mind and bringing about a quiet and tranquility in ones everyday life. He said that the ancient Indian system has has the potential and all attributes to be a catalyst for start of a new era of peace and brotherhood.

Earlier in his address PM also highlighted the achievements of Indian Scientists in scaling one more technological barrier with the successful launch of the breakthrough low altitude interceptor missile.

But a major part of his speech was focussed on countless benefits of Yoga. PM also sought to again highlight the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness in everyday life adding that good health is a collective effort of personal and environmental cleanliness.

In his address to International Yoga Festival, Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness in everyday life. Prime Minister said that Indian tradition not only puts emphasis on cleanliness of individuals but also on his surroundings.

Prime Minister also said that practising Yoga helps fight stress and lifestyle related issues, disciplines people and has the strength to combat climate change.
