Ayurvedic institute at Panchkula soon
A national-level institute for ayurvedic treatment, education and research centre will be set up in 20 acres at the Mansa Devi Shrine Board complex soon.
The announcement for the Rs 500-crore project was made by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during the Assembly session.An agreement was signed between the Centre, the Haryana Government and the Mansa Devi Shrine Board.
The Government of India will bear all expenses and the land was given by the Mansa Devi Shrine Board on a lease for 33 years. The possession of land has been given on a token charge of Re 1 per annum to the Health Ministry.
There will be a 300-bedded hospital in the institute, along with a hall for yoga and naturopathy. MLA Gian Chand Gupta, while welcoming the decision, said researchers from other countries would also come to the institute.
The governing body will include two members, who will be appointed by the administrator of the shrine board. The state has asked the AYUSH Ministry to provide free treatment to shrine board employees as well as all devotees while charging nominal registration fee.
Out of the four demands sent by the state to the AYUSH Ministry, one remains to be accepted, which pertains to the name of the institute. The state had asked that the institute be named after Mata Mansa Devi. However, the ministry has named it as the All-India Institute of AYUSH, Yoga and Naturopathy.
