Narendra Modi’s turns yoga instructor in animated videos released after ‘Mann ki Baat’, advocates for ‘Fit India’ | FirstPost
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has, on several occasions, pitched for people to take up yoga. Even during his 42nd Mann Ki Baat address to the nation, the prime minister said that yoga is a guarantee of both fitness and wellness and advocated for a ‘Fit India’. “It is the result of our concerted efforts and commitment that yoga has now become a mass movement and reached every house,” he added.
He reminded people of the upcoming International Yoga Day on 21 June and said, “I surely am a yoga practitioner and yet some people, through their creativity, have made me a yoga teacher as well and 3-D animated videos of my yoga practice sessions have been prepared.” The videos were released just moments after his pitch for ‘Fit India’.
As of now, the videos are only available in English and Hindi but, more languages are soon to be added. The videos cover the most commonly used and important asanas with instructions on how to perform them and other details.
In the Mann Ki Baat address, Modi urged people to ensure that they perform yoga themselves and motivate their friends and family also. He lauded the people for participating with great zeal and enthusiasm in the previous three International Yoga Day events.
