On Supreme Court’s advice for an out-of-court settlement among the warring parties on Ram Janmabhoomi dispute, the Shankaracharya said the Muslim community does not have the legitimate claim on the site. There were adequate historical evidences that an ancient Ram temple had existed at the site, said the 92-year-old seer, who is associated with the movement for reclamation of Ram Janmabhoomi land and construction of the temple since 1980s.
He claimed that during 27 days of hearing in the Allahabad High Court, it was established through 200 ancient scriptures that neither Moghul emperor Babur nor his general Mir Baqi had ever visited Ayodhya. He said it was wrong to call the disputed demolished structure as Babri mosque and insisted on construction of grand Ram temple at the earliest.

He added that no new legislation is required to construct the Ram temple and demanded complete ban on cow slaughter across the country, besides export of meat. The seer also demanded abolition of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and speeding up of cleaning of the Ganga river.

Reiterating his opposition to worship of Shirdi Sai at Hindu temples, the seer said his protest would continue to protect the originality of Hinduism.
He was accompanied by Brahmachari Subuddhanand, Mahamandeleswar Ramkrishnanad and Swami Amritanand Saraswati. Swaroopanand is scheduled to deliver a religious discourse at Maharaja Agrasen Bhawan on Friday.
