Tension in Lalgudi after damage to temple portion | Times Of India
TRICHY: Tension prevailed in Lalgudi near Trichy after a portion of a temple under construction was damaged by unknown persons on Friday.
Achiyaramavalli temple in Anbil village was undergoing renovation. The presiding deity in the temple is worshipped by people from three different communities in the village. Meanwhile, people belonging to one community decided to build an arch and house a particular deity in the temple.
However, that arch and the idols placed in the raised structure were found in a damaged condition on Friday. Tension prevailed in the village after people from one community started accusing others of allegedly running the temple.
