Steps sought to protect temple land

Alleging attempts to own 102 acres at Gangasani Agraharam in Anandapuram mandal belonging to Kasi Visweswara Swamy panchayatan temple, YSRC on Monday urged the Collector to act.

The land was given to the Simhachalam Devasthanam and it had pattadar passbook for it, party district spokesperson P. Murhty Yadav said in a representation submitted to the Collector.

Some persons had applied to the Revenue Department with fake papers claiming ownership of the land, he said urging the Collector to take action against such persons. Mr. Yadav also urged the Collector to put a halt to land-pooling by VUDA stating it was against the Land Acquisition Act of 1913
