Bomb threat to Sabarimala temple | The Hindu
A bomb threat call received at the police control room at Sabarimala put the police on their toes on Tuesday night.
Police told The Hindu that the control room received a phone call that “a nine-member team from Karnataka carrying a bomb had set off to Sabarimala”. The caller also gave the phone number of a person carrying the bomb.
The police cyber cell found that the call was made from Hosur in Karnataka. The phone number given by the caller was traced near a transmission station in Sabarimala.
No explosives
Teams of the State and Central security forces conducted search operations and took a person, identified as Thimmaraj, 29, from Hosur, into custody. The police searched his team members and found they were not carrying any explosives. Thimmaraj “identified” the anonymous caller as his father Umashankar, with whom he was at loggerheads.
After allowing them to offer worship at the temple, the police took him to Hosur for investigation.
