HENB | Ahmadabad | Feb 3, 2015:: Intolerance row reaches to “Raees” shooting in Kutch; Shah Rukh Khan faces severe protests from Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Gujarat. SRK’s much anticipated film ‘Raees’ has fallen into some trouble in Gujarat. The actor flew to Gujarat recently to start with the film’s 15-day schedule in Kutch and Ahmedabad. But, heaping resentments from the Hindus have been surfaced all around again.
According to available reports, the film’s shoot has been opposed by the Vishva Hindu Parishad. The members of VHP aren’t willing to let SRK shoot his film ‘Raees’ in Gujarat and have demanded the District Collector to cancel the film’s shoot permit. The members expressed their objection by burning Shah Rukh Khan’s film’s posters. The protesters beaten up with shoes and peed on SRK’s pictures.
Today, they protested outside the district Collector’s office pressing for the same demand. They shouted slogans against the actor and also burnt and tore his posters.
“From the Collector’s office they wanted to go to the place where the shooting is on, which is on the outskirts of the Bhuj city, but we have stopped them and dispersed them,” Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) M B Parmar said.
“He should think, living in this country which gave him name, fame and riches; if he goes on speaking about non-existent intolerance, the VHP will never forgive,” Gujarat VHP general secretary Ranchod Bharwad said.
“Today there is news that a Hindu temple was attacked and vandalised in Pakistan. Why are they not giving any statement on the intolerance there,” he asked.
The VHP members went further and threatened that if their demands were not accepted, they will pay cause turmoil on SRK’s film’s sets. By the looks of it, seems like Vishva Hindu Parishad hasn’t yet forgiven Shah Rukh Khan for his intolerance comment against the majority of Indian citizens. The majority Hindus feel now disgusted with this highly paid Bollywood film actor who has earned his unaccountable wealth from his Hindu viewers in fact.
Shah Rukh Khan had entered the ongoing debate on intolerance on November 2 last year by expressing that there was “extreme intolerance” in the country.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the crime-drama, ‘Raees’ is set in the 1980s Gujarat. It is slated to release on Eid this year. The caption (subtitle) of this film “RAEES” as “BANIYE KI DIMAAG AUR MIYANBHAI KI DARING” has also been objected by the business class Gujarati society as the film wants to depict the Gujarati businessmen attached in the crime scene.
Earlier, the International working president of Vishva Hindu Parishad, Pravin Togadio had spoken on SRK and Aamir Khan’s comment on Intolerance. “Both these actors do not have any love for their motherland otherwise they would not have made such unpatriotic remarks,” he had said.
It is told the SRK starer Film “Raees” is to deal with the election menaces in the Gujarat politics around eighties. The film is dedicated to ‘reopen’ the flow of alcohol, drugs, black money, sex trade and muscle power in electioneering in Gujarat politics. Pakistani female star Mahira is also playing a vital role in this film with co-star Nawajuddin Siddique.
