BJP directive to district units: ‘Report each migration from across Uttar Pradesh, regardless of the reason’ | The Indian Express
THE BJP has directed its district units to report to it each and every case of a family migrating from across the state, irrespective of the reason.
The directive comes in the backdrop of the recent Kairana “exodus” episode, with BJP MP Hukum Singh alleging that over 300 Hindu families have migrated to other places due to extortion threats from “a particular community”.
BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday confirmed that all districts units have been asked to give information about migration by locals. “If there is any migration, BJP will raise the issue and fight for the rehabilitation of the families,” Maurya told The Indian Express.
Sources in BJP said the issue of migration could be in BJP’s agenda in its next state executive meet to be held in Moradabad district on July 9 and 10.Following the Kairana controversy, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) too has started a survey to identify areas in UP where the population of Hindus has decreased when compared to Muslims over the years due to migration. It has directed its districts units to collect information of areas where Hindus have migrated or are prone to migrate. VHP has claimed it has a list of nearly 60 such towns in western UP.
With Hukum Singh claiming that he has more lists of families who have migrated from different districts of western UP over the years, parties such as BJP, SP and JD(U) have sent their delegations to Kairana to probe the allegations. While the BJP probe panel had backed Singh, the local administration in its probe has declined the allegations.
