Speaker inaugurates Vedic school constructed by the Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam | Web India

Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao inaugurated Vedic school and accommodation complex, constructed by the Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam (TTD) at the hill shrine Kotappa Konda in this district today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that the Vedic school was constructed by the TTD at a cost of Rs.5 crore and the accommodation complex also with the same amount. It is happy to note that the TTD is taking up various projects not only to provide education to the poor but also to protect the ancient culture and tradition of the land.

TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao said that the TTD is spending Rs 50 crore per annum for the spread of Vedas. He said that the TTD is running a Vedic University in Tirupati and seven Vedic schools in which over 1,000 students are studying. An amount of Rs 3 lakh would be deposited in the name of the student who is studying Vedas and Rs.1 lakh who is studying Aagama Sashtram before the completion of their education. TTD Chairman Chadalavada Krishna Murthy said that Vedas are the inherited wealth and it is the responsibility of all to protect them. UNI DP CS 1902
