Sanskrit varsity teachers stage dharna demanding the removal of the Registrar | The Hindu

Association of Sree Sankaracharya University Teachers staged a dharna on the main campus of the varsity in Kalady near here on Wednesday demanding the removal of the Registrar for allegedly tampering the minutes of the Syndicate meetings.

Representatives of the association alleged that Registrar T.P. Raveendran had prepared the minutes by recording the opposite of what was decided at the Syndicate meetings. The tampering of the minutes started immediately after the reconstituted Syndicate met for the first time. They alleged that the Registrar had even prepared minutes where it was mentioned that a decision on an issue was taken despite eight Syndicate members dissenting it.

Mr. Raveendran rejected the allegations stating that efforts were on to undermine the rapid progress achieved by the varsity. These were baseless allegations aimed at diverting the attention from developmental initiatives on the campus.
