AYUSH Minister Naik claims, Yoga can prevent and cure cancer

On Saturday, Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Yasso Naik y said yoga therapy can cure major diseases like cancer. He also said that the government could come out with scientific evidence on this matter within a year.In the inauguration ceremony of a four-day National AROGYA fair at Panaji the AYUSH Minister said, “It is a proven fact. We have visited the Bengaluru-based Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA) institute, where many people told us they have been cured of cancer by regular practice of yoga. The institute has found a technique of yoga for the prevention and cure of cancer.”

S-VYASA mentor and inspiration Dr H R Nagendra is a veteran RSS ideologue, proponent of Yoga Research field and believed as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s yoga guru. S-VYASA is a prime Yoga Research Institute in India controlled by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS).

The AYUSH Ministry could endorse this alternative cure offered by S-VYASA and prescribe it to people in about a year, Naik said. “As of now, they (S-VYASA) have not produced documentation, but once they submit it, we will research it. Only after confirming that it is 100 per cent scientific will we endorse it,” the minister said.

A National level AROGYA Fair organized by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India in association with Goa State Government and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) began in Goa today at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at Goa University Campus at Bambolim near Panaji. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Shri ShripadNaik inaugurated the four day conference in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Shri LaxmikantParsekar, Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Anant Shet, Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Francis DSouza, Forest Minister ShRajendraArlekar, Science and Technology Minister Ms. Alina Saldanha and leader of opposition Shri Pratap Singh Rane.

On this event Shripad Yesso Naik also released the Yoga Protocol for International Yoga Day 2016.

The AYUSH Minister told to HENB that India is facing a critical hazards of Cancer, Diabetics, Heart Diseases and Hypertension. But, these can be prevented and controlled through taking regular yoga and pranayam practices in a balanced life style rejecting various addiction to tobacco, alcohol and drugs. He also pointed out the Govt’s firm resolution to ensure every citizen’s health through indigenous schools of medicine and traditional health practices. Naik highlighted the Indian ethos of ‘plain living and high thinking’ in a grand harmony of Yoga and Ayurveda as a boon of Mother Nature.
