Collective Yoga display to mark International Yoga Day on June 21

Bhopal : On the instructions of the Government of India, second International Yoga Day will be celebrated on a large scale on June 21 like last year. On the day, Yoga-based ‘s programmes will be held in the country simultaneously.

This was informed at a meeting held to prepare for Yoga Day in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary School Education SR Mohanthy. Principal Secretary Higher Education Ashish Upadhyay, Principal Secretary AYUSH Smt. Shikha Dube, Principal Secretary Home Smt. Seema Sharma, Commissioner Public Instructions Neeraj Dube, Bhopal Collector Nishant Warwade, Municipal Commissioner Smt. Chhavi Bhardwaj, Director Public Relations Anil Mathur, Director of Culture Rajesh Mishra and SP Anshuman Singh attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that the Yoga Day will be observed in all districts. State-level event will be held at Lal Parade Ground,n Bhopal. It would be participated by 6000 school children, 1,000 college students, 1500 members of NCC and others, 500 participants each of Patanjali and the Art of Living and 250 participants of CRPF (police). Mohanthy said final rehearsal before the main event will be held on June 19. Yoga trained teachers will conduct Yoga activities in schools.

He said that special attention should be paid to the training because Yoga is to be expanded on large-scale. He directed municipal and district administration to ensure all arrangements regarding the event. He instructed to make arrangements for drinking water, toilet, transportation etc.for students and other participants.

Mohanthy said large number of members of Art of Living organization, Patanjali and Gayatri Parivar will participate in the event. The meeting was informed that participation of school, college and university students in addition to the Institute of Yoga, NCC, NSS, policemen, government servants, public representatives and ordinary citizens is being ensured for collective Yoga display programme on second International Yoga Day. The programme will be held simultaneously at all places between 7 and 8 pm. Department of Culture will organize cultural programmes on Yoga Day at Bhopal.
