SOME 50 educators from Tamil schools and various Hindu religious bodies gained an insight into Hinduism during the three-day Dharma Teacher’s Training.
Organised by the Malaysia Hindudharma Mamandram, the course covered 12 important topics that featured fundamental principles, scriptures, saints and sages in Hinduism.
Its national president A. Radhakrishnan said the course would guide the participants on how to conduct religious classes in schools and other places.
“All the rituals and prayers in Hinduism have its reasons, but not many are aware of it,” he said when met during the course at Seameo Recsam in Penang recently.
He added that the religious classes were important especially for the younger generation.
“This is an initiative by the Mamandram to provide teaching guides, modules and plans for the participants to simplify their learning process.
“The course is divided into 10 sessions and conducted by 10 different speakers and lecturers who are well-versed in Hinduism,” he added.
Malaysia Hindudharma Mamandram Penang branch president V. Nanda Kumar urged those who were interested in such classes to contact them as the Mamandram was ready to conduct free classes for them.
At the end of the three-day course, the participants also received certificates of participation and the modules to help them in their classes.
