Telangana CM to visit hill shrine tomorrow
Ending months of speculation, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao is finally scheduled to gift precious jewels worth Rs. 5 crore to the Tirumala deity on February 22.
According to an official communiqué from the IGP Intelligence, Hyderabad, Mr. Rao will fly in at the Tirupati airport at 5 p.m. on February 21 by a special aircraft and motor up straight to Tirumala. After an overnight stay, he will visit the hill temple the next morning and donate gold ornaments in fulfilment of his prayers for having achieved a separate statehood for Telangana. Mr. Rao will also attend the marriage function of P. Sudharshan Reddy’s family at a private mutt before going to Tiruchanoor en route to Tirupati airport and fly back to Hyderabad the same afternoon. Temple authorities are expecting his son K.T. Rama Rao, daughter Kavitha, and other Cabinet colleagues, to accompany him.
