Jaisalmer: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the Tanot Mata Temple here on Saturday. He arrived in Jaisalmer on Saturday.
He offered prayers at Tanot Mateshwari Temple along with his wife. He meditated before the idol for a long time. The minister is a devotee of Tanot Mateshwari. He had visited the temple in 2014 too when he came to Jaisalmer. He also met the BSF jawans at the Indo-Pak border.
Jaisalmer district collector Kailash Chand Meena and SP Gaurav Yadav welcomed Chouhan. BJP district president and other party officials also reached his hotel to welcome him.
From airport, Chouhan went to a private hotel, where he was extended a traditional welcome. After resting for some time, he left for Tanot Temple along with his wife. En route, some Anandpal Singh supporters had gathered to show black flags to Chouhan, so the route was changed at the last moment.
At Tanot, Chouhan was welcomed by DIG Naresh Kumar and Commandant 135 BSF D S Ahlawat.
