Government should reconsider Rs 2000 currency note : Baba Ramdev – Times of India

The Rs 2000 note introduced by the Modi government post demonetisation is not good for the country, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said on Monday.

“I do not like the Rs 2000 note as it facilitates corruption. It is easy to carry and can be easily transported. The bigger the note the easier it is to accept and give bribes,” Ramdev said while addressing a press conference in Bhopal.

Baba Ramdev had made a brief halt in Bhopal while on way to Alirajpur where he is participating in the Narmada Seva Yatra along with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Ramdev also took a dig at the ruling NDA government saying no political party will ever work towards promotion of swadeshi as all parties were under the influence of multinational corporations.

“The ruling party is obliged to honour treaties signed in the past while it is also a fact that when in opposition parties take donations from multinational corporations who control over Rs 50 lakh crore of the Indian economy. So it is trusts like the Patanjali trust and people like me who will have to work towards throwing these corporations out of the country,” he said while addressing a press conference in Bhopal.

  1. Black money both inside and outside the country belongs to the people of this country. The government has taken a tough stand on black money within the country and I’m hopeful the government will do something similar to get the black money parked abroad.
  2. The present government has been in power for almost three years now but still there are two years left. The prime minister’s post is such a powerful post that he can do anything. Two years are still left and I’m hopeful that something would be done to bring back the black money.
  3. Coke and Pepsi are dangerous drinks. They do not have any nutrients and they should be kept away from the banks of the Narmada river. I would in fact like to throw them out of the country.
  4. I would support the Congress party if they do anything positive for the country. The country belongs to everyone.
  5. I have no ambition of making a political party for now. There was a political crisis in 2014 so I supported Narendra Modi. Modi Ji told that I agree with your issues against corruption 200 per cent and I trusted him. Modiji has a track record of doing what he says. Still there are two years left.
