CM Yogi Adityanath announces make over for Lucknow before yoga day | Times of India

LUCKNOW: You can expect LED streetlights, impeccable parks and a cleaner city ahead of International Day of Yoga on June 21.

Chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi on Saturday issued orders for a virtual makeover of the city before the event which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The chief minister was reviewing the preparations for the mega event at his Shastri Bhawan office. Also present in the meeting was Union minister of state (independent charge) of Ayush ministry Shripad Yashonaik. The CM directed officials to install LED bulbs in all streetlights.

He also said all illegal and shabbily installed hoardings in the city should be removed and hoardings depicting various postures of Yoga should be put up.

The CM also said he would attend rehearsals for the event at Ramabai Ambedkar Rally Sthal on June 19. ID cards will be issued to all 55,000 participants at the event. The yoga event would be held at 11 parks of the city. A nodal officer will be appointed for each venue. The officer would be responsible for ensuring a proper public address system, toilets, drinking water, cleanliness, fire brigade, electricity and security.

The CM also directed officials to arrange for transport for the participants from the main venue.
While the PM would be leading the Yoga event in Lucknow, ministers have been directed to lead parallel yoga events in districts.
