Sree Padmanabha temple gears up for Painguni festival | The New Indian Express

Authorities proceeding for the 'Mannuvaral' ritual as part of Painguni festival at Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple | Express

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Painguni festival at Sree Padmanabhaswami temple here will begin with ‘mannu neeru koral’ on Saturday.

As part of the festival, ‘shanti homangal’ will be performed on March 29. Brahmakalasa pooja and abhishekam will be performed in the following days.

The Pallivetta ceremony will be held on Sunday (April 9) night.

On April 10, the Arattu day,  the deities will be taken in a ceremonial procession to the Shanghumukham beach for the ritualistic bath in the sea.

The head of the erstwhile Travancore royal family will lead the procession which includes mounted police and traditional drum ensemble.
