Kamala Nagar Ayyappa Temple Brahmotsavam begins | The Hans India

Hyderabad: Brahmotsavam at the Kamala Nagar Ayyappa temple, one of the major temples in the city dedicated to Lord Ayyappa started Sunday with the ceremonial flag hoisting.

Earlier on Saturday, preparations for the festival started with Shuddhikalasam, the purification ritual. Unnikrishnan Namboodiri, the representative of the chief priest of Sabarimala temple is leading the rituals.

Special Padipooja and Pushpabhishekam will be held during the five-day festival along with many other poojas and special offerings. Special Annadanam also would be held all these five days, C R Prabhakaran, general secretary of Sri Ayyappa Seva Sangam, the governing body of the temple, told The Hans India.

Renowned Melam artistes from Kerala under the leadership of Ammath Unni Nair and Thriprayar Aniyan Marar will be performing Thayambaka and Pancharimelam as part of the celebrations. The festival will be concluded with the ceremonial bathing at 11:30 a. m. on June 10.
