Devaswom Vigilance to probe Vilwadrinatha Temple fire | The Hindu

The Cochin Devaswom Board Vigilance will investigate the fire accident at Vilwadrinatha Temple, Thiruvilwamala, on Tuesday night, in which a major portion of the Chuttambalam was gutted.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the fire spread from the ‘Chuttuvilakku’ held at the temple. However, the investigation will look also look into the sabotage angle. The chances of short circuit also will be investigated, Cochin Devaswom Board president M.K. Sudharshan said. Devaswom Vigilance SP R.K. Jayaraj will head the investigation. The Cochin Devaswom Board put the estimate to repair the temple at ₹2crore.
