Temple interior to be renovated – The Hindu

The work on renovating the inner ‘praharam’ has commenced at the Arulmigu Sugavaneswarar Temple in the city. The temple is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

At present the inner ‘prakaram’ has cement flooring. The devotees complain that the floor turns slippery during rainy season, causing much hardship, especially to senior citizens, women and children.

Further it has suffered many damages over the passage of time, warranting renovation.

With repeated requests to alter it, the work of setting up stone slabs has been taken up at an outlay of Rs. 25 lakh, temple sources said.

The stone slabs have been procured from Krishnagiri district. The devotees complain that the floor turns slippery during rainy season.
