Ujjain: MLA Mohan Yadav organises 34-km vehicle rally on Shivratri

Ujjain: Member of legislative assembly (MLA) Mohan Yadav, organised a vehicle rally from Mahakaleshwar to Boreshwar Mahadev temple on the occasion of Shivratri.

The rally was initiated by national vice-president of Nehru Yuvak Kendra and state head of Bharatiya Janata Party Vishnudatt Sharma. Special guests energy minister Paras Jain, mayor Meena Jonwal, state president of Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Affairs Sanwar Patel, former MLA Shiva Kotwani and janpad president Rahul Jaat were present at the rally. Pictures of Mahakaleshwar and Boreshwar were put on carriages. Guests performed aarti of the pictures of Mahakaleshwar and Boreshwar Mahadevs and set off the rally.

Hundreds of devotees attended the rally on two-wheelers along with tractors, music bands and four-wheelers. The rally began from Harsiddhi compound and reached Ingoriya via the main roads of Ujjain including Dani gate, Mullapura and Badnagar Road. The devotees were received at Ingoriya by Barnagar MLA Mukesh Pandya along with thousands of supporters. Khichdi, fruits, milk and cold drinks were distributed to the devotees who participated in the rally. Devotees reached Boreshwar Mahadev temple covering 34-km distance in 2.45 hours. Boreshwar Mahadev temple is 4,000 years old and holds a great archeological significance. The water offered to the Shivlinga is absorbed in the earth completely.

On the occasion of Shivratri, Nagchandreshwar Mahadev Mandir at Rajnagar and Uttam Nagar was adorned as Shiv-Parvarti. Khichdi was distributed after the Mahaarti at the temple. BJP leader Anil Kalukheda organised the function at the temple. Valmiki Sant Umeshnath and chairman of Central Simhasth Fair Organising Committee Makhan Singh Chauhan were felicitated at the function. Senior BJP leaders Pradeep Joshi, Babulal Jain, Jagdish Agrawal and others were present.

Trilokeshwar Mahadev temple at Freeganj was beautifully decorated on Shivratri. Sehra was offered to the Shivlanga in the evening. Khichdi, milk and thandai were distributed to thousands of devotees throughout the day. A bhog of 21,000 laddoos will be offered on Saturday.
