An exhibition of ayurveda products and medicines put up by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on the sidelines of a replica of the Balaji temple at PWD grounds in city as part of the ongoing Krishna Pushkarams is drawing impressive crowds.
At the ayurvedic stall, the TTD has showcased the sanatana glory of the ayurvedic stream of medicine, its methods and cure for several deadly diseases given up in allopathy and other streams of medicine.
The objective of the exhibition is to spread awareness on indigenous medical streams available in India at low cost and easily available formats across the country. Hoardings and flow charts of ayurvedic medicine like dhanwantari are put up explaining all aspects like
Kaya, Bala, Graha, Shalakya, Shalya, Agada, Rasayana and Vagikarana methods of treatment.
The pictorial charts also explain about the basic health tips to prevent diseases, the types of medicine to be used and also lifestyle transformation as per the seasons to enhance the impact of the panchakarma treatments.
The charts also displaye the medicinal values of traditional vegetables and herbs like usiri, aswagandha, bitter gourd, cloves, uttarreni, jilledu, tippatiga, podapatri, dolagondi etc.
The TTD-run ayurvedic dispensary is manned by a medical officer and two junior doctors. Medical treatment is provided free of cost besides distribution of token amount of medicines to the Pushkar devotees who want to use ayurvedic medicines.
The exhibition and the medical services are organised under the supervision of SV Ayurdeva College Principal Shankar Babu, Medical Officer Ravinder Babu, Bhaskar Rao and Harshavardhan.
Demand for Srivari copper dollars
The copper dollars of Lord Venkateswara on display at the TTD publications stall in the model Srivari Temple complex in PWD grounds are selling like hot cakes.
The incessant flow of Pushkara devotees in city visit the TTD books stalls besides the viewing the photo and flower exhibitions on the same premises. Copper dollars of 5 gms and 10 gms being sold for Rs. 15 and Rs. 20 are a major hit and pilgrims are taking them home as a memento of Pushkarams for their friends and relatives.
The devotees believe that the dollars with a Srivari emblem beget the blessings and support of Lord Venkateswara in their daily lives.
Books released
The Joint Executive Officer of the TTD K.S. Sreenivasa Raju on Friday released four religious books.
The four books, in English and Telugu, are on glory and hoary significance of Lord Venkateswara with colourful illustrations.
Srinivasa Kalayanam, Srinivasa Suprabhatham, Sri Anjaneya Charitra and Srinivasa Mahatyam are authored by Neeli Venkataramana.
