MADHEPURA: Thousands of devotes from Mithila, Simanchal and Nepal are expected to offer ‘jal’ to the shrine of Lord Shiva at the Singheshwar Sthan where a monthlong Mahashivaratri fair and a three-day Singheshwar Mahotsava will commence from Friday.
Madhepura DM Mohammad Suhel and SP Vikash Kumar on Wednesday visited the Singheshwar Sthan to take stock of the security arrangements. “Police personnel, including women, have been deployed in and around the temple to ensure the safety of the visitors. CCTV cameras and metal detectors have also been installed to keep anti-social elements at bay,” said the DM, adding two air-conditioners had been installed on the temple premises for the devotees.
