Little Krishnas throng streets on Janmashtami – The Hindu

Hundreds of tiny tots dressed as Krishna and Gopikas flooded the streets during the Maha Shobha Yatra organised by Balagokulam on the occasion of Sreekrishna Jayanthi here on Wednesday.

Children also came out dressed up as various other mythological characters, as different Shobha Yatras from across the city joined the Maha Shobha Yatra at various points. The Shobha Yatras were held in Ernakulam, Thripunithura, Edappally, Chottanikkara, Maradu, and Palluruthy.

Members of Balagokulam, devotees, and children from Cheranalloor, Kunnumpuram, Devakulangara Temple, Perandoor Temple, Thanniyakkal Dattatrayakshetram, and Pavakulam Temple at Kaloor converged at Marine Drive. The Maha Sangamam of Shobha Yatras began after the Ayappankavu Shobha Yatra reached Marine Drive by around 5 p.m.

Poornamrithanandapuri of Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt and singer Madhu Balakrishnan jointly inaugurated the meeting. The Maha Shobha Yatra concluded at the Siva temple later.
