Google Unveils Yoga Directory | Yogi Approved

Google’s trademark efficiency has now integrated itself into the yoga community. Google has announced that users will be able to learn yoga poses without leaving the search engine.

When you search for any yoga pose using the English or Sanskrit name, Google will provide you with all the necessary information to complete the pose. The powerful search engine will also serve users by displaying explanatory images of the pose in conjunction with the key details of each pose.

The images will describe the muscles each pose strengthens, possible modifications, and the category under which the pose falls. Users can move from one pose to the next, and Google will also provide guidance on how to develop a yoga sequence.

Here’s a little step-by-step to show you just how cool this new feature is:

1. Google search “yoga poses”

As you can see, popular poses will come up, so pick one!

2. I picked Downward Dog.

As you can see, the card displays various informative details about each pose: the name in Sanskrit and English, what body parts the pose strengthens, and more.

It may not be adequately advanced for the seasoned yogis out there, but beginners will definitely benefit from it. Next time you are wondering how Chair Pose or Warrior II look like, just hop onto Google!

What do you think about saying Namaste to Google? Will you use this new feature?
